538 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 261 018 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

He spoke about the most recent statistics related to COVID-19 and measures taken by the Government of Georgia as of today.

"I am sharing with you the most recent statistical data as of February 5, 2021 as posted to www.stopcov.ge.

Within the scope of intensive testing 16 808 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 9 163 were antigen-based express test method and 7 645 PCR.

538 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 261 018 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.

As for the test-positive indicator, the daily rate as of February 4 is 3.2%, for the past 14 days - 4.2% and 7 days - 3.75%.

498 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 252 246.

Unfortunately, 18 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak, the total death toll has reached 3 258.

Out of 538 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 227 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 25 - in Adjara, 83 - in Imereti, 35 - in Kvemo Kartli, 44 - in Shida Kartli, 16 - in Guria, 60 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 31 - in Kakheti, 9 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 6 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 2 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 5 488, out of which: 2 287 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 1 078 are stationed in Tbilisi, 188 - in Adjara and 463 - in Imereti.

Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 538 patients, out of which 236 are based in Tbilisi, 45 - in Adjara and 134 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 146 patients, out of which 103 are stationed in Tbilisi, 6 - in Adjara and 16 - in Imereti.

274 individuals are placed at clinical hotels, out of which 182 are based in Tbilisi, 81 - in Adjara and 11 - in Imereti.

2 927 individuals are treated at home. 478 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 199 are located in Tbilisi and 174 - in Adjara.

In total 22 531 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine venues from October 6, 2020 through February 4, 2021.

Currently 14 734 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 9 014 are based in Tbilisi, 789 - in Adjara and 1 502 - in Imereti." announced Berdia Sichinava.
