688 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

He spoke about the most recent statistics related to COVID-19 and measures taken by the Government of Georgia as of today.

"I am sharing with you the most recent statistical data as of February 3, 2021 as posted to www.stopcov.ge.

Within the scope of intensive testing 15 792 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 9 579 were antigen-based express test method and 6 213 PCR.

688 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 259 897 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.

788 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 251 077.

Unfortunately, 13 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak, the total death toll has reached 3 221.

Out of 688 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 295 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 23 - in Adjara, 126 - in Imereti, 31 - in Kvemo Kartli, 45 - in Shida Kartli, 32 - in Guria, 69 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 50 - in Kakheti, 7 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 7 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 3 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 5 573, out of which: 2 384 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 1 158 are stationed in Tbilisi, 179 - in Adjara and 467 - in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 559 patients, out of which 253 are based in Tbilisi, 45 - in Adjara and 131 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 153 patients, out of which 110 are stationed in Tbilisi, 6 - in Adjara and 14 - in Imereti. 292 individuals are placed at clinical hotels, out of which 200 are based in Tbilisi, 81 - in Adjara and 11 - in Imereti. 2 897 individuals are treated at home.

487 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 200 are located in Tbilisi and 126 - in Adjara.

In total 22 375 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine venues from October 6, 2020 through February 2, 2021.

Currently 15 348 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 9 419 are based in Tbilisi, 734 - in Adjara and 1 538 - in Imereti." announced Berdia Sichinava.
