240 new cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council, stated during today's briefing at the Administration of the Government.

He reported the latest COVID-19 statistics.

"Allow me to quote the latest coronavirus statistics posted on stopcov.ge as of February 1.

9,056 tests have been conducted throughout the country under the intensive testing program in the past 24 hours, including 5,490 antigen tests and 3,566 PCR tests.

Consequently, we have 240 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. Since the first outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, we have had a total of 258,351 confirmed cases.

We have 681 recoveries in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 249,709.

Unfortunately, 16 people have died in the past 24 hours. Since the outset of the pandemic, we have had a total of 3,194 fatalities.

Of the 240 cases identified today, 86 were confirmed in Tbilisi, 15 in Adjara, 37 in Imereti, 19 in Kvemo Kartli, 21 in Shida Kartli, 3 in Guria, 28 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 17 in Kakheti, 6 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 8 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and none in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

Presently, we have 5,422 active infection cases. 2,676 persons are treated in hospitals, including 1,321 in Tbilisi, 186 in Adjara, and 499 in Imereti. We have 569 severe cases, including 252 in Tbilisi, 46 in Adjara, and 147 in Imereti, of whom 162 are on a ventilator, including 121 in Tbilisi, 4 in Adjara, and 16 in Imereti.
268 persons are in clinical hotels, including 176 in Tbilisi, 81 in Adjara, and 11 in Imereti. 2,478 persons are recovering at home.

We have 474 persons in quarantine zones, including 202 in Tbilisi and 123 in Adjara.

From October 6 through January 31, a total of 22,269 persons have been transported from the state border into quarantine zones.

Presently, 15,689 persons are self-isolating, including 9,715 in Tbilisi, 775 in Adjara, and 1,538 in Imereti," Berdia Sichinava said.
