Presently, 2,911 new cases have been confirmed and 2,421 persons have recovered in the past 24 hours, Alexandre Khojevanishvili, Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council, stated during today's briefing at the Administration of the Government.

He discussed the latest coronavirus statistics and the Government's action in the past 24 hours.

"2,911 new cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours. Since the first confirmed case, the country has had 66,561 confirmed cases.

We are maintaining a positive dynamic in recovery numbers. In particular, 2,421 persons have recovered in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 49,811.

Unfortunately, 45 people have died in the past 24 hours, including 18 in Tbilisi, 14 in Adjara, 7 in Imereti, 3 in Kvemo Kartli, 2 in Kakheti, and 1 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Since February 26, 2020, we have had a total of 566 fatalities.

Of the 2,911 cases identified today, 1,056 were confirmed in Tbilisi, 476 in Adjara, 469 in Imereti, 201 in Kvemo Kartli, 134 in Shida Kartli, 76 in Guria, 294 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 69 in Kakheti, 19 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 92 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 25 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

Presently, we have 16,158 active infection cases. 4,878 persons are treated in hospitals, including 2,373 in Tbilisi and 787 in Adjara. We have 632 severe cases, including 306 in Tbilisi and 111 in Adjara, of whom 308 are on a ventilator, including 146 in Tbilisi and 105 in Adjara. 3,181 persons are at COVID hotels, including 1,569 in Adjara and 1,099 in Tbilisi. 8,099 persons are treated at home.

We have 2,656 persons in quarantine areas, including 508 in Tbilisi and 1,328 in Adjara.

Since October 6, a total of 14,098 persons have been transported into the country.

Presently, 39,721 persons are self-isolating, including 6,568 in Tbilisi, 16,826 in Adjara, and 4,385 in Imereti," Alexandre Khojevanishvili said.
