As of today, 2 970 new cases have been proven positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. It was announced by Alexandre Khojevanishvili, Head of Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held at the Government Administration today.
He spoke about the statistical data related to the novel Coronavirus and measures taken by the Government of Georgia within the last 24 hours.
"As of today, 2 970 new cases have been proven positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases identified since the detection of the first case has reached 63 650 in the country.
We maintain the positive trend of recoveries and namely 2 348 individuals recovered in the last 24 hours, thus making the total recoveries increase to 47 390.
Unfortunately, 22 individuals died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, including 11 in Tbilisi, 4 in Adjara, 6 in Imereti and 1 in Kvemo Kartli. Since 26th February 2020 the total number of deaths has reached 521.
Out of 2 970 cases identified today, following geographic spread has been observed: 1 130 cases were detected in Tbilisi, 653 - in Adjara, 463 - in Imereti, 90 - in Kvemo Kartli, 105 - in Shida Kartli, 67 - in Guria, 202 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 94 - in Kakheti, 93 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 49 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 24 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
Active cases of COVID infection are 15 713 at present. 4 709 individuals are getting medical care at hospitals, out of which 2 361 are based in Tbilisi and 732 - in Adjara. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 656 patients, out of which 341 are based in Tbilisi and 109 - in Adjara. Out of them, lung ventilators are used in the case of 265 patients, from which 153 are based in Tbilisi and 60 - in Adjara. COVID Hotels are currently used for a remote medical care for 3 066 individuals, out of which 1 542 are based in Adjara and 1 053 - in Tbilisi. 7 938 individuals are getting medical treatment at home.
2 765 individuals are placed in the quarantine, out of which 557 are based in Tbilisi and 1 290 - in Adjara.
Total number of people transported from the border in the period of October 6 through November 9 has reached 13 797.
As of today, 37 303 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 6 325 are based in Tbilisi, 15 021 - in Adjara and 4 246 - in Imereti" announced Alexandre Khojevanishvili.
