Aleksandre Khojevanishvili: 2,775 New Confirmed Cases of Infection Have Been Detected in Last 24 Hours; 3,560 People Have Recovered Print Version

As of today, 2,775 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours, Aleksandre Khojevanishvili, head of the Task Force operating under the Interagency Coordination Council stated at a briefing at the Administration of the Government.

He discussed the latest statistics on the coronavirus, as well as the measures implemented by the government in the last 24 hours.

"As of today, 2,775 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours. A total of 51,993 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the country since the first case of infection.

We are maintaining a positive dynamic in terms of the increase of the number of recoveries as of today as well. Namely, 3,560 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recoveries has increased to 37,019.

Unfortunately, 22 people have died in the last 24 hours, including 8 in Tbilisi, 6 in Adjara, 7 in Imereti, and 1 in Kvemo Kartli. A total of 423 people have died since 26 February 2020.

The geographic breakdown of the 2,775 cases of infection that were detected today is as follows: 1,044 in Tbilisi, 503 in Adjara, 526 in Imereti, 207 in Kvemo Kartli, 177 in Shida Kartli, 89 in Guria, 177 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 36 in Kakheti, 43 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 25 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 8 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At this stage, the number of active cases of infection stands at 14,525. 4,618 people are being treated in hospitals, including 2,279 people in the hospitals of Tbilisi, and 734 in Adjara. 619 patients are in a serious condition, including 336 people in Tbilisi and 83 in Adjara. Of them, 268 people are on ventilators, including 124 people in Tbilisi and 79 in Adjara. 2,438 people are being treated at COVID hotels, including 1,174 people in Adjara and 841 in Tbilisi. 7,469 people are receiving treatment at home.

3,094 people are in quarantine, including 689 people in Tbilisi and 1,353 in Adjara.

A total of 12,445 people have been transferred from the border between 6 October and 5 November.

As of today, 31,370 people are in self-isolation, of whom 3,146 people are located in Tbilisi, 13,764 in Adjara, and 4,155 in Imereti," Aleksandre Khojevanishvili stated.
