Natia Mezvrishvili Led a Work-Group Meeting on New Strategy for Georgia in 2021-2027 under the Austrian Development Cooperation Program Print Version

National priorities of Georgia, sector-specific needs and main directions of the New Strategy for Georgia in 2021-2027 under the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) Program have been discussed at a Work-Group Meeting held at the Government Administration today under the chairmanship of Natia Mezvrishvili, Head of Government Administration of Georgia.

Austrian Development Agency (ADA) is currently working on a New Strategy for 2021-2027 and future cooperation opportunities along with new initiatives have been discussed at the meeting with an engagement of Austrian and Georgian government officials, as well as representatives of the civil society of the country.

Government officials of Georgia shared detailed information with the Austrian counterparts on the national priorities and sector-specific needs of the country. Following areas and reforms have been selected for Austrian support: economic growth, eradication of imbalance witnessed at the labor market to ensure the demand and supply of skilled labor force within the scope of a new reform of the education system, development of eco- and agro-tourism in high terrain regions, environmental policy, rural development and acceleration of agriculture growth, along with other needs of the sector.

Head of Government Administration of Georgia expressed gratitude to the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria and Austrian Development Agency (ADA) for their unwavering support of the country since 1995 amounting to 95 million Euros so far.

Parties agreed that active cooperation will continue in the process of developing a new 7-year program in support of Georgia.
