Giorgi Sakhokia, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Georgia participated in the conference held on the topic of local authorities.

Conference with a title - Open Governance in Local Authorities - was held at the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel in Tbilisi today. Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Georgia noted in his speech that Georgia is one of the first countries in the region to join the Open Government Partnership (OGP) initiative.

Representatives of 25 municipalities discussed transparency and accountability within local authorities, as well as commitments assumed by Georgia under the OGP.

Municipalities with standards adopted on increased transparency and integrity, shared their experience with other local authorities within the scope of the conference. Event was attended by Louisa Vinton, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Regional Representative; Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi; Mzia Giorgobiani, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia and officials from various municipalities of the country.
