With the aim to facilitate the implementation process of the chapter on Business and Human Rights of the Governmental Action Plan on Human Rights, three-day workshop was held on February 25-27, in Borjomi. The main themes of the workshop were the responsible business conduct: the approach of the MNE declaration and role of the Government to advance responsible labour practices. The workshop was organized by the Human Rights Secretariat of Administration of the Government of Georgia and the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The participants of the workshop were informed about the following issues: corporate social responsibility and the responsible business conduct, MNE declaration, its aim, its scope, its approach and operational tools, gender equality and decent work, economic empowerment through women entrepreneurship and engaging the private sector on decent work: sustainable enterprises development and youth entrepreneurship.

Apart from these issues, participants discussed the implementation process of the chapter on Business and Human Rights of the Governmental Action Plan on Human Rights. Particular attention was paid to the challenges of the implementation process and necessity of making amendments within the document.

Among the participants of the workshop were the representatives of the private sector and the state agencies responsible for the implementation of the chapter on Business and Human Rights of the Governmental Action Plan on Human Rights. Besides, the representatives of UN Women, Non-governmental organization "CIDA", Georgian Employers Association (GEA), Georgia Trade Unions Confederation (GTUC), Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Academy of Ministry of Finance participated in the workshop.

Human Rights Secretariat in close cooperation with representatives of the state instructions, international and civil society organizations will actively continue working towards the effective implementation of the chapter on Business and Human Rights of the Governmental Action Plan on Human Rights.
