Review of draft National Action Plans of 2018 -2020 Print Version

The meeting was held at the Government's Administration headed by Sopo Japaridze, Assistant to the Prime Minister of Georgia on Human Rights and Gender Equality Issues. Draft National Action Plans of 2018-2020 "On the Measures to be Implemented for Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims/Survivors" and Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of governmental institutions, international organizations and civil sector. After the goals, objectives, indicators and actions of work plans had been presented to the participants, civil sector representatives were able to submit their recommendations. They also expressed their remarks and viewpoint during the review of initial versions of the work plans.
National Action Plans "On the Measures to be Implemented for Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims/Survivors" and Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security are planned to be approved in February.

Approval of the national action plans will support implementation of integrated and consistent state policy for prevention and elimination of the violence against women and domestic violence, as well as meeting the needs of IDPs, conflict affected women and the women living across administrative border lines.
