On November 22, 2010 was held the meeting of the Georgian Government. The agenda included 40 items.
Nika Gilauri, the Prime-Minister of Georgia talked on several issues before commencing the meeting. Here is the Prime-Minister's speech:
"While discussing the issues of the governmental meeting, I'd like to make a comment about last week's developments. Last week was one of the most successful and important in the history of the Georgian international diplomacy, last week NATO PA's session was convened in Warsaw, where Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity was once again supported and terminology already used in the international policy was once again emphasized- this is the terminology in relation of occupied territories. In the document adopted by NATO PA, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are referred to as "Occupied territories" and Russian troops as an occupant.
Meetings were convened at Brussels last week; the meeting of the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and the U.S. President Barack Obama served as a message of serious international and U.S. support for Georgia. Regarding the NATO summit, it is important that the Alliance member countries once again noted the willingness to see Georgia as NATO member. All the events thereof took place during last week.
Certain forces sought to hold Georgia away from the international arena, but their efforts failed. Georgia is the main and successful topic in international politics,"
Besides, I want to comment on the staff changes which have been undertaken in the cabinet of ministers. As you know, Temur Iakobashvili will be appointed Georgian Ambassador to the USA. I thank him for his tireless work and efforts during his term as a State Minister and Vice-Premier.
The very important document was drawn up during the term of his office; this document so-called "Strategy for occupied territories" was submitted to and approved by many countries. We'll continue working on the strategy even in the future.
Eka Tkeshelashvili will replace Temur Iakobasvhili, on the position of the State Minister for Reintegration and I welcome another woman in the cabinet, we'll have already three ladies within the cabinet of ministers. All of these women are the ministers of the most difficult ministries such as: Reintegration, Economy and Ministry of Probation, Penitentiary and legal aid of Georgia.
