Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri was on his one-day business visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan

the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and the president of Azerbaijan Ilham AliyevOn 23 July 2010 the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri was on his one-day business visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of the visit Nika Gilauri met the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. At the meeting they talked about relations between the said two countries and the particular projects jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Georgia.

 

In Baku Nika Gilauri placed a wreath on Heydar Aliyev's grave and the memorial of persons killed in the fight of the motherland and belief in "Shekhids' Alley".the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and the  Azeri counterpart Artur Rasi-Zade

The Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri also personally met his Azeri counterpart Artur Rasi-Zade.
During his visit in Azerbaijan Nika Gilauri took part in the activity of Georgia-Azerbaijan intergovernmental economic commission where they discussed plans of bilateral cooperation.

 

As Nika Gilauri stated to press representatives after the Commission's meeting, "we can do much important things together. At present the key matters in Georgian-Azerbaijan economic relations are energy and transport. There are new perspectives such as agriculture and telecommunications. I hope that we'll work over new projects in this respect."

"A standing Committee in Transport Affairs guided by Ramaz Nikolaishvili was created under agreements signed in Baku," stated the Georgian Prime Minister
