"When we talk about the New Course, we mean not only the Revenue Service, but also the Investigation Department. The recent period has shown the results of the reforms that we carried out in the Investigation Service. Today we have decorated several people with orders, with Gorgasali Medals. We decorated them because they have unraveled very complicated schemes devised by Mafioso clans, they have solved cases in which not only taxes and revenues were hidden, but the society was damaged, good and honest business was damaged. They have done it not only with their courage and knowledge, but also with a very high level of professionalism. What I mean is that when the case was presented, all the questions that might have been asked became unnecessary. It was clear for everyone what it was all about, no further questions were needed about whether they had been doing something else and whether the situation was different. All the questions had been answered. Millions of lari were being hidden and all the businesses that paid taxes honestly were damaged. The Investigation Service should not be perceived as an agency that terrorizes business or as an opponent. It is an agency that protects the society and honest tax payers from contraband and fake products. When contraband enters the country, it enters into a very bad competition with local products, goods for which taxes have been paid. Accordingly, it undermines honest tax payers, honest business. The Investigation Service exists to ensure that this doesn't happen and that honest tax payers are not at a disadvantage. I would like to thank them and point out that reforming this service is also a part of the New Course," declared Nika Gilauri.
