On July 13, 2009 the Georgian Prime Minister was on his visit in Turkmenistan, where in Ashkhabad a meeting of United Governmental Commission of Georgia- Turkmenistan Economic Cooperation was held.
The main topic of the meeting of United Governmental Commission of Georgia- Turkmenistan Economic Cooperation was NABUCO Project which Turkmenistan also joined.
Within the scope of the visit Nika Gilauri met the President of Turkmenistan Gurbangul Berdi Muhamedov.
After the meeting the Georgian Prime Minister stated that they had discussed different energy projects. "The Turkmen party is ready to diversify its natural gas market". NABUCO Project was considered as of the projects. "And this is important both for us and the entire region", said Nika Gilauri.
