At the commencement of the Meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli expressed satisfaction with the results of the successful talks held in Baku on 30 November over the supply of gas to Georgia. He said that the main issues were practically settled and that on 8 December Tbilisi would host the meeting of the Energy Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia to discuss and finally decide the question of Shah-Deniz Sharing Contract and determine Georgia's share.

The Prime Minister of Georgia also briefed the Government members that according to preliminary estimates, the inflation rate in November accounted for 0,9%, and for the last 11 months - 7,7%. He said that it was quite a good achievement, particularly in view of the fact that that year the country saw the influx of a large amount of direct foreign investments and foreign currency. "Accordingly, our core goal over the year has been fighting inflation in the macroeconomic sphere and the success was the result of the joint efforts of the Government of Georgia and National Bank of Georgia," the Prime Minister of Georgia said.
