The prime minister’s visit in Kakheti

On December 22, the Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze visited Kakheti. He started his tour by visiting the Amidasturi church belonging to the 6th century, which has recently been restored in the village of Vachnadzeani (Gurjaani region). Archeological excavations are planned to be opened here next year. Later in the day, Vladimer Gurgenidze acquainted himself with the problems of the population in the family of a local farmer. - "Apart from the monuments which we all like and remember very well, there are many more, which are forgotten and demolished. Their restoration process has become rather intensive during recent years. This is the treasure of our history and a prerequisite of the future as for moral, also for tourist reasons. My visit here today is particularly exciting, because I am in my mother's land, for she is Vachnadze by her last name; therefore, Kakheti is my home as well, at least in part," - the prime minister asserted.

At the closing of the visit, in Tsinandali, at the Alexander Chavchavadze museum, Vladimer Gurgenidze met with the representatives of the printed media: Aleko Aslanikashvili (Sakartvelos Respublica), Soso Goginashvili (Akhali Taoba), Nodar Ladaria (24 Hours), Paata Veshapidze (24 Hours), Ia Antadze and Zviad Koridze. The issues related to the events that took place in our country recently were discussed at the meeting.
